Since we've been cleaning out our basement to prepare the "party room" (as I've affectionately named it...I refuse to call it a "man cave"), we are ready to have our 2nd yard sale of the year.
I'm not quite sure how we got so much stuff, but it seems to be reproducing and multiplying by the week!
To me, there's something about a yard sale that is quite intriguing. You have a group of strangers, rummaging through your personal items, which at one time you found valuable and sentimental. And somehow these items have ended up in your driveway, in moving boxes, with "4/$1" written in permanent market on the box.
Being new to the blogging world, I've started looking around for inspiration from other bloggers.
And Desire to Inspire has TONS of beautiful images in many different styles. They are constantly updating, so I check it out quite often to see the latest.
I'd also love to know what decorating blogs you're into. Please e-mail with your favorites!
Check out the NEW products we found!
Kim (associate editor) and I had SO much fun at the Kitchen and Bath Show in Chicago! We found lots of cool new products that are really worth checking out!
Whether you're into sleek and contemporary or cool and casual, this show had it all! And I'd love to hear about your favorites...
Being that May is upon us (this year is flying by), it's Remodeling Month at MyHomeIdeas. The topic is one of my favorites, as Scott and I are always looking for ways to improve our home, especially if it's budget-friendly ideas that can be done on the weekend.

Hail Storm + Watchful Husband = New Roof
Living in an older house has its ups and downs.
While I was away in Chicago, a pretty rough storm blew through our area, and Scott, being a former insurance adjuster, took a tape measure, measured the hail (it was pretty big!), and inspected the roof, circling the spots where the hail hit (using a lumber crayon). He luckily took pictures of all this.
And boy, did it pay off!
